Sunshine and Ducks

Mandarin Duck

Today was an absolutely gorgeous day. Mel and I both went to the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary to take pictures. Surprisingly, the temperatures were so mild that we barely needed hats or mittens—a sharp contrast to yesterday’s weather where I had on two hats, two neck warmers and two layers of clothing—and yet my fingers were still frozen. The forecast for the next few days calls for rain and then snow! Go figure.

On our walk today through the sanctuary, we didn’t really see any new birds,  but we still enjoyed taking pictures of the regulars—especially the Mandarin Duck! What an incredibly beautiful and photogenic bird!
